About WPPJ

WPPJ is Point Park University’s student-run mixed format radio station. Since 1966, we’ve been broadcasting live radio and offering students the chance to become their own DJ’s. The station is completely student run and managed. DJ’s pick their own playlists and air in their own formats. We are Point Park’s oldest club, and are proud of our heritage creating creative, quality radio.

To keep up-to-date, make sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Instagram!

If you are a Point Park University student and would like to get involved with WPPJ, stop into the studio anytime or contact any of our board members! We would love to have you be a part of the station.

Rock-A-Thon is our annual fundraiser and live broadcast. Each fall we move outside of our Lawrence Hall Studios into the hallway outside of the Cafe. For 67 straight hours, DJs broadcast their shows all in the name of raising money for the Pittsburgh-Based Early Learning Institute (TELI).

TELI provides therapeutic Early Intervention for children birth to 3 and comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation therapies for children and adolescents. We’ve proudly partnered with TELI to raise funds for the last 36+ years.

WPPJ has been proud to collaborate with Point Park University’s Center for Media Innovation (CMI) utilizing it as a second broadcasting space. Several WPPJ podcasts and shows originate from the CMI studios. In addition to standard podcasts, WPPJ records high-profile interviews and special projects in the CMI, including election night coverage.
